Taxonomy published in the Official Journal

28 November 2023: The Taxonomy Environmental Delegated Act and amendments to the Climate Delegated Act were published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 21 November.

The Taxonomy disclosure requirements linked to the new activities will apply gradually. Companies falling under the scope of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive will have to report on Taxonomy eligibility from 1 January 2024 (for financial year 2023) and on Taxonomy alignment from 1 January 2025 (for financial year 2024).

On the other hand, the Platform on Sustainable Finance working for the Commission has already been tasked with developing a new batch of Taxonomy criteria as part of its new mandate. This first batch of activities includes adaptation criteria for the manufacturing of emergency aircraft.

The Commission also launched the Stakeholder Request Mechanism for stakeholders to submit suggestions on new activities that could be added to the EU Taxonomy and/or changes to existing activities.
