Sustainability Manager
ERA seeks to appoint an experienced Sustainability Manager to join its team in Brussels to guide ERA’s work on environmental and sustainable matters affecting its members within the EU.
Purpose of the role
- To be responsible for the sustainability activities of the association and the promotion of ERA’s member progress in this area.
- To undertake any research and analysis required on specific topics for use by ERA in its lobbying activities.
- To meet relevant stakeholders and represent ERA in matters related to sustainability and other areas as required.
- To assist and support the Head of Sustainability, Director General and members of the Policy & Technical team in the department’s delivery of its key objectives
The postholder will be required to have knowledge and experience in EU and international energy and climate policies as well as a knowledge and an interest in learning about the airline industry. Knowledge of key environmental issues affecting aviation will be helpful assets for the role as well as a good understanding of the functioning of EU institutions.

Pre-requisites
- Broad understanding of the aviation industry
- Knowledge of key environmental issues affecting aviation
- Analytical skills and motivation to acquire knowledge in compressed timescales
- Excellent spoken, written and presentation skills in English
- Ideally already based in Brussels or willing to locate there.
