EUROCONTROL launches CO₂MPASS fuel efficiency dashboard
21 June 2024: CO₂MPASS is a new dashboard designed by the Network Manager to help support policymakers and operational stakeholders monitor fuel efficiency and consumption.
Earlier this month, EUROCONTROL launched the CO₂MPASS dashboard, which provides access to detailed data on fuel consumption during various flight phases such as climb, en route and descent, across different Area Control Centres (ACCs) or Terminal Manoeuvring Areas (TMAs).
Covering all intra-NM and international flights that enter or exit the EUROCONTROL area, aircraft operators can delve into a detailed analysis of their flights' fuel burn, comparing planned versus actual performance for each phase of flight and pinpointing the ACCs or TMAs where the highest fuel burn occurs.
CO₂MPASS is customised to the user's profile, ensuring that the information is relevant and maintains the privacy of individual data results.
Through the provision of precise, up-to-date data on fuel usage, the hope is that this free tool will enable airlines to further refine their back-office flight planning processes, leading to more efficient and cost-effective trajectories, while also contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions.

EUROCONTROL will be promoting and demonstrating CO₂MPASS and other software support tools at ERA’s General Assembly in October.
