London Southend Airport
London Southend is London’s newest airport in the world’s largest aviation market with 180 million annual passengers. As runways elsewhere in the capital return to 100 per cent capacity, it will become the London airport of choice for more passengers and airlines. Its substantial 8.2 million catchment – 75 per cent of which is in London – gives its partners access to some of the fastest growing areas in the UK – Shoreditch, Stratford and Shenfield in East London and Essex. Easily accessible, central London is just 52 minutes away by trains that run up to six times per hour in the peak, with its own airport station just 40 paces from the terminal. One of the UK’s fastest-growing airports pre-pandemic, the award-winning facility saw more than 40 viable short-haul routes. With its own uncongested London airspace and one-stop approach to airport fees, handling and fuel, its attractiveness is undeniable. It also operates in a sustainable way, with over 20 per cent of its energy usage from its own solar farm.
