Innsbruck Airport
Innsbruck Airport is located in the Austrian Tirol, in the heart of the Alps. A profitable, healthy and modern regional airport, it provides a prestigious gateway to Tirol. With more than one million passengers and approximately 30 national and international airlines each year, the airport has become a driving force for the region’s economic activities and tourism. Tourism is important, especially during the winter, as the airport handles up to 60 aircraft and up to 18,000 passengers on Saturdays in this season. The airport’s highlight of the last decade has been the ERA Airport Achievement Award, making Innsbruck Airport the first Austrian airport to receive this recognition. The airport has set an example for all regional airports on how to improve operations and enhance flight safety, especially during low visibility, by installing a multilateration surveillance system.
