BRA – Braathens Regional Airlines
Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) is a leading domestic airline in Sweden with a market share of 30 per cent. Operating to and from 16 destinations across Sweden, Denmark, Finland and France the company is renowned for its exceptional punctuality. Their dedication to service excellence has earned Braathens Regional Airlines the title of ‘Most Satisfied Passengers in Sweden’ in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022.
Established in 2016 through the consolidation of several domestic carriers, Braathens Regional Airlines traces its roots back to 1946 with the inaugural flight of the Braathens family's first aircraft. Since 2018, the company has offered customers the option of flying with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
In 2019, Braathens Regional Airlines conducted ‘the Perfect Flight’, utilising 50 per cent SAF blended fuel, optimising flight parameters to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 46 per cent. In 2022 the company achieved another milestone by operating a commercial flight with 100 per cent SAF. Additionally, that same year, Braathens Regional Airlines introduced SAF tickets, including 50 per cent SAF, a pioneering initiative in the industry.
Braathens Regional Airlines became the first commercial airline to achieve ISO 14001 environmental certification in 2009. Committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Braathens Regional Airlines aims to achieve net-zero emissions for domestic flights by 2030 and international flights by 2045.
Beyond its scheduled services, Braathens Regional Airlines also offers ad hoc and ACMI operations. In 2023, Braathens Regional Airlines expanded its services further, introducing charter flights utilising Airbus A319 and Airbus A320 aircraft for tour operators.
